Unpad provides targeted interventions such as access to on-campus food assistance programs, meal support schemes, and collaborations with local food suppliers to ensure students can meet their daily nutritional needs. The university also promotes awareness on food security and healthy eating through educational campaigns and community engagement initiatives. These actions aim to create a supportive environment where all students regardless of their financial background can thrive academically and personally. Through these initiatives, Unpad contributes to reinforcing its commitment to equitable student welfare and sustainable campus well-being.

Universitas Padjadjaran’s Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) demonstrates its commitment to supporting the development of the “Kawasan Perikanan Darat” (Inland Fisheries Zone) in Ciparanje. Established in 1996, this facility integrates education, research, and community service in freshwater aquaculture, focusing on sustainable fish breeding, aquaponics, and food production innovation. The zone serves as a practical learning and research hub that trains future aquaculture professionals, advances environmentally friendly technologies, and supports local communities through technology transfer and applied aquaculture practices. By promoting sustainable fish cultivation and reducing dependence on wild fisheries, the Ciparanje zone contributes to food security, improved nutrition, and the development of resilient and sustainable food systems in Indonesia.

The 2024 Unpad Ramadan Bazaar, initiated by the university’s rectorate, showcased the spirit of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) and creativity within the Unpad community through the production and sale of various homemade foods and pastries. Prof. Isis expressed appreciation for the community’s active participation, highlighting how the event reflected Unpad’s internal potential in supporting local food production and entrepreneurship. He also encouraged the continuation of the bazaar in future years as a platform to nurture creativity and strengthen social solidarity. The bazaar not only celebrated cultural togetherness but also promoted local food sustainability, small-scale food enterprise development, and community empowerment in ensuring food availability and diversity.

The Student Activity Unit of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) Universitas Padjadjaran, Fortifikasi, demonstrated its commitment to sustainable food innovation through a Surimi-Making Training held on October 26, 2024. This initiative contribution to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger by promoting innovation in fish-based food production to support food self-sufficiency and improved nutrition. Through education and skill development, the program empowers students to create value-added fishery products that enhance local food security and economic sustainability. By integrating scientific learning with community-oriented innovation, Unpad continues to strengthen its role in advancing sustainable aquaculture and contributing to resilient food systems in Indonesia.
