At the faculty level, the Faculty of Psychology’s BEM Kema Fapsi Unpad complements institutional services through two dedicated student-led programmes. Aksen, under the Public Service Department of BEM Kema Fapsi, raises mental health awareness through roadshows and campaigns for World Mental Health Day, providing free counseling services to students across Indonesia in collaboration with 25 counselors and psychologists (@aksenunpad). Hi-Care, managed by the Student Welfare Department of BEM Kema Fapsi, focuses on mental health education and peer counseling, having successfully conducted 65 peer counseling sessions for 49 active Unpad students and extended its reach through knowledge-sharing sessions with students from Unitar Malaysia (@hicareunpad).
The Center for Psychological Innovation
The Center for Psychological Innovation (PIP Unpad) provides professional psychology services for individuals and organisations, accessible both face-to-face and online at https://pip.unpad.ac.id/. Its individual services cover assessments and interventions for children, adolescents, and adults using a biopsychosocial approach, while its organisational services support institutions at various levels including executive, managerial, and leadership tiers. PIP Unpad’s online consultations have reached clients not only across Indonesia but also in Australia, Japan, Dubai, and the Netherlands.
Mental health support at Unpad extends beyond student services to encompass academic staff as well. The university has organised dedicated seminars such as “Fostering Mental Health: Enhancing Well-Being Among Female Academic Staff,” reflecting its recognition that mental wellness is equally important for its workforce, alongside annual World Mental Health Day campaigns to sustain awareness across the university community.
At the academic programme level, Unpad’s Faculty of Nursing offers specialised education through its Department of Psychiatric Nursing, and the Faculty of Medicine provides a Medical Specialist Programme in Psychiatry (Pendidikan Dokter Spesialis-I Psikiatri), ensuring that mental health expertise is continuously developed and integrated into the university’s broader educational mission. Through this multilayered ecosystem of support, prevention, and education, Unpad affirms that mental health is a shared institutional responsibility that spans every level of the university community.
