Educational and Community Outreach Programs on Sustainable Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Tourism by Universitas Padjadjaran

In 2024, Universitas Padjadjaran strengthened its commitment to sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, and tourism through a series of educational and community outreach initiatives. The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) led programs that empowered local fish farmers and communities with practical skills in sustainable aquaculture management, including ornamental fish breeding, feed enrichment, and fish health care in Sindangsari Village. Complementing these efforts, Unpad’s nationwide Kancra Webinar Series promoted biodiversity-based approaches in fisheries through the use of local plants for feed and health innovation. In the tourism sector, Unpad’s KKN team conducted guide training at Green Canyon, Pangandaran, improving safety awareness, communication skills, and professionalism to support responsible and sustainable tourism development in coastal communities.
