Free Access is Provided for Farmers and Local Producers to Utilize Universitas Padjadjaran’s Laboratories and Seed Resources

University Access to Local Farmers and Food Producers at Universitas Padjadjaran demonstrates the university’s dedication to strengthening sustainable agriculture through open collaboration and resource sharing. Unpad provides local farmers and food producers with access to its research facilities, including laboratories, experimental farms, plant nurseries, and livestock breeding centers. These resources are used to enhance farmers’ knowledge and capacity in applying modern, sustainable, and environmentally friendly farming practices. By connecting academic expertise with community needs, Unpad facilitates technology transfer, innovation in agricultural production, and the improvement of food quality and safety standards. Unpad promoting sustainable food systems and empowering local farmers to achieve long-term productivity and resilience.

Initiation of Plant Stock Distribution for Local Farmers in Bandung Regency
Universitas Padjadjaran provides access to plant genetic resources (plant stocks) for farmers in Bandung Regency as part of its effort to enhance sustainable agricultural productivity and diversification. Through collaboration between the Faculty of Agriculture and the local government, Unpad distributes high-quality seeds developed through university research, which demonstrate strong resistance to pests and climate change. Alongside seed distribution, the university offers technical guidance on cultivation, maintenance, and harvest management to ensure effective adoption. This initiative strengthens science-based agricultural innovation and technology transfer, directly improving local farmers’ livelihoods.

Scientific Oration for Food Producers on Crop Yield Optimization Research
As part of its research dissemination agenda, Universitas Padjadjaran regularly conducts scientific orations and open lectures accessible to farmers and food producers. During these sessions, Unpad researchers present findings on crop yield optimization, covering topics such as balanced fertilization, precision irrigation technologies, and sustainable soil management. Participants gain direct access to academic research outcomes and engage in dialogue with experts on field applications of these innovations. These public engagements bridge academia and local agricultural communities, strengthening knowledge-based collaboration in sustainable food production.

Livestock Reproductive Biotechnology to Improve Quality and Productivity
Through the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Padjadjaran provides access to its reproductive biotechnology laboratories for local farmers to enhance livestock quality, population, and productivity. Training programs introduce farmers to advanced techniques such as artificial insemination, cryopreservation, and embryo transfer developed at Unpad’s facilities. The initiative also engages students and researchers in assisting farmers with the practical implementation of these technologies. By opening its laboratory infrastructure to the public, Unpad accelerates the adoption of modern livestock biotechnology, supporting local innovation and sustainable agricultural practices.

Integrated Weed Management to Enhance Agricultural ProductivityAs part of its applied research and community engagement mission, Universitas Padjadjaran offers access to its agricultural research facilities and experimental plots for local farmers to learn about Integrated Weed Management (IWM) practices. The program combines mechanical, biological, and eco-friendly chemical control methods to optimize yields while maintaining soil health and biodiversity. Through hands-on training and direct use of university research tools, farmers experience how sustainable practices can be effectively implemented in the field. This initiative positions Unpad as a knowledge hub for sustainable food system innovation.
