Providing food is a key element of sustainable development. Supporting local agriculture, forestry and fisheries to support the fulfillment of community food needs. Apart from that, the contribution made by Padjadjaran University in providing food for the community is one of the keys to sustainable development as well as food security and improved nutrition which continues to have a positive impact.

As a form of supporting environmental sustainability and reducing the negative impact on the ecosystem, Universitas Padjadjaran is committed to tracking and managing food waste on campus. Policies are also implemented at UNPAD, such as Management of the Canteen, Management of Eco-friendly Campus, and Management of Eco-friendly Campus.


Actual actions include facilitating special trash bins for plastic bottles and glasses in the surrounding environment and inviting students to take part in trash collection activities to raise awareness of the importance of using plastic wisely, reducing the use of plastic, and switching to more environmentally friendly materials.

Staff hunger interventions
Food insecurity and hunger among students are serious issues that can hinder academic development and overall well-being. Universitas Padjadjaran recognizes that access to sufficient and nutritious food is essential to support academic performance as well as the mental and physical health of students, so various strategic steps such as initiatives and policies need to be taken to address this challenge and ensure that every student has access to sufficient and affordable nutritious food. The following are the faculty canteens in the UNPAD environment. In addition, some faculties provide vouchers for underprivileged students so they can access food in the canteen for free as well as discounts and free food.
In addressing the challenges of hunger affecting students and the academic community, Universitas Padjadjaran has taken proactive steps by designing and implementing a series of interventions to ensure that every student has adequate access to healthy and nutritious food sources. This is an essential step in our efforts to create a supportive and inclusive educational environment. These steps aim to ensure that every student has adequate access to food to learn optimally without being hampered by nutritional and health issues.

One effort to disseminate knowledge of food security from an early age is to provide information to children who are still in school so that they care about food security first. In addition, information is also routinely provided to the surrounding community so that they are concerned about the knowledge.
