Eco-Friendly Slow Release Fertilizer Based on Banana Corm and Shrimp Shell Waste for Urban Farming

As part of its applied research and community innovation, Universitas Padjadjaran researchers developed an eco-friendly slow-release fertilizer made from banana corm and shrimp shell waste to enhance urban farming productivity. This fertilizer gradually releases nutrients, improves soil health, and reduces environmental pollution from chemical fertilizers. The project also includes training programs for urban farmers to produce and apply the fertilizer independently, ensuring broader access to sustainable agricultural innovation.

Technical Training on Dairy Product Processing with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs
In collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia, Universitas Padjadjaran conducted technical training on dairy product processing for local farmers and small-scale entrepreneurs. Participants were trained in the production of value-added dairy products such as cheese, yogurt, and ice cream that meet food safety and quality standards. The program enhances agribusiness capacity and entrepreneurship while increasing local farmers’ income and strengthening food sustainability. This initiative exemplifies Unpad’s role in knowledge transfer for food system improvement.

Public Lecture on Integrated Weed Management to Improve Agricultural Productivity

Universitas Padjadjaran held a public lecture on Integrated Weed Management, providing open access to the community on eco-friendly weed control and biological management methods to enhance crop yield and quality. Experts from the Faculty of Agriculture shared scientific knowledge and best practices with farmers, students, and agricultural extension officers. This initiative promotes the dissemination of agricultural knowledge and enhances public understanding of sustainable farming techniques.

Development of Rice Growth Stimulating Technology

As part of its applied agricultural research, Universitas Padjadjaran developed an innovative rice growth-stimulating technology designed to improve productivity and crop resilience to climate change. The technology optimizes water and nutrient use efficiency while maintaining ecological balance. Through community outreach and farmer training, Unpad ensures that local farmers gain direct access to science-based agricultural innovations that enhance productivity and environmental sustainability.

Application of Hydertetoyer Technology to Address Feed Shortages in Sumedang Regency

Through the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Padjadjaran implemented the Hydertetoyer technology to assist livestock groups in Sumedang Regency in overcoming shortages of green fodder for dairy goats. This controlled-environment system enables rapid, fungus-free feed growth using locally sourced corn as an alternative to imported barley. The program not only enhances feed availability and reduces production costs but also restores degraded land and supports ecological sustainability. By providing technical training and mentoring, Unpad ensures effective knowledge transfer and technology adoption among local farmers. This initiative contributes to local food security and sustainable livestock management.
