Universitas Padjadjaran provides public access to its libraries, including a wide range of books, academic publications, and resources. The university’s libraries are open to both students and the general public, offering valuable educational materials to support research, learning, and community engagement. The Universitas Padjadjaran Library is a library unit that acts as a learning centre. Its collection is general in nature, representing eighteen faculties and schools within Unpad. Meanwhile, scientific centres are located in each Faculty and Study Program Library.

This library is a source of information for the entire Unpad academic community and the community outside Unpad. Libraries help students, lecturers, and education staff access information, improve the quality of research and education, increase work efficiency and effectiveness, and increase collaboration in research and teaching. The library’s services include access to book collections, scientific journals, news articles, theses, and other scientific works produced by the Unpad academic community. Libraries provide physical materials (hard copy) or digital access (soft copy) and can be in a physical location, virtual space, or both.

Public Visit to Unpad Library

In 2024, Universitas Padjadjaran organized the Festival Literasi Kandaga 2024, a literacy festival hosted by the university’s Knowledge Management Center (Pusat Pengelolaan Pengetahuan) at the Unpad Library. The event, held from October 28 to November 1, 2024, was open to the public and aimed to promote reading culture and literacy among both the academic community and the wider society. In collaboration with Penerbit Buka Buku Pustaka, the festival featured a book bazaar offering a wide range of titles from various authors, with special discounts to attract more visitors. The event successfully sold over 250 books to students, lecturers, and members of the general public. This collaboration not only enhanced public access to diverse reading materials but also strengthened Unpad’s commitment to advancing literacy and lifelong learning through community engagement.

In 2024, Universitas Padjadjaran’s Knowledge Management Center actively promoted literacy and community engagement through a series of educational initiatives. Alongside hosting the Festival Literasi Kandaga 2024, a public literacy festival aimed at strengthening reading culture, the center also welcomed multiple school visits as part of its literacy outreach program. Several high schools, including SMA Islam Nurul Fikri Boarding School Lembang, SMAN 19 Bandung, and SMAN 17 Bandung, visited the Grha Kandaga library to learn about its facilities, collections, and information services. Students were warmly welcomed by the library team, who provided guided tours and short presentations on the role of academic libraries in supporting higher education and research. These visits not only introduced students to university-level learning resources but also encouraged them to cultivate a lifelong interest in reading, knowledge exploration, and information literacy.
