Universitas Padjadjaran actively promotes education and capacity building in freshwater ecosystem management through specialized training and collaborative programs. The Center for Environment and Sustainability Science (PULIK/CESS) regularly organizes workshops and technical courses that enhance community and academic competence in water quality monitoring, conservation, and sustainable resource use. Recent initiatives include water sampling training at the Unpad PSDKU Pangandaran campus and an international collaboration with Germany’s Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) for practical quality control in environmental water analysis. These programs equip students, researchers, and professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to support sustainable freshwater management and protect aquatic ecosystems at local, national, and global levels.
Unpad’s Center for Environment and Sustainability Science Conducts Water Sampling Training in Pangandaran

The Center for Environment and Sustainability Science (PULIK) of Universitas Padjadjaran organized a “Water Sampling Training” on November 28, 2024, at the Unpad PSDKU Pangandaran campus. The training, attended by 90 participants from the Tropical Marine Fisheries Study Program, aimed to strengthen students’ and lecturers’ technical skills in environmental monitoring and water quality assessment. Experts from PULIK’s accredited Ecology Laboratory (KAN ISO 17025-2017) provided practical guidance on sampling techniques, field data recording, and equipment handling. This program reflected Unpad’s commitment to enhancing research competence and promoting sustainable management of freshwater and marine ecosystems.
Unpad Enhances Environmental Water Quality Analysis through International Training Collaboration

The Ecology Laboratory of the Center for Environment and Sustainability Science (CESS) at Universitas Padjadjaran held a Practical Quality Control Training in collaboration with the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Germany’s national metrology institute, from December 16 to 18, 2024. The training combined theoretical sessions and hands-on laboratory practice to enhance participants’ skills in environmental water quality analysis. Guided by Assoc. Prof. Ian Ken Dimzon from Ateneo de Manila University, the program engaged 30 participants, including environmental analysts, representatives from local environmental agencies, and the National Standardization Agency (BSN). This international collaboration reflects Unpad’s commitment to improving laboratory competence, advancing environmental research, and promoting global partnerships for sustainable aquatic ecosystem management.
