In 2024, Universitas Padjadjaran strengthened its community engagement initiatives by promoting awareness and practical understanding of energy efficiency and renewable technologies. The programs introduced concepts such as efficient energy use, waste-to-energy conversion, and clean energy applications including solar power, biogas, and eco-friendly innovations. Educational activities, demonstrations, and training sessions were conducted to encourage behavioral change toward sustainable energy practices. These initiatives empower participants to apply low-carbon solutions in daily life and promote environmental responsibility, reflecting the university’s ongoing commitment to advancing sustainability education and clean energy transition in society.

Outreach with Pertamina New and Renewable Energy

In 2024, Universitas Padjadjaran strengthened its public outreach on energy efficiency and clean energy through a collaboration between the Faculty of Communication Sciences and Pertamina New and Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE). The program began with a public lecture titled Communication Strategies in Developing Renewable Energy on 22 April 2024 and expanded into a broader community-focused initiative. Through open seminars, workshops, a dedicated renewable-energy awareness curriculum, educational materials, digital and mass-media campaigns, and field visits, Unpad extended learning opportunities beyond students to the surrounding local community. This initiative broadened public understanding of energy efficiency, the importance of reducing fossil-fuel dependence, and the role of clean energy in achieving Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission 2060 target, demonstrating Unpad’s commitment to empowering society in the transition toward sustainable energy.

Workshop on Renewable Energy

In 2024, Universitas Padjadjaran strengthened its community outreach on energy efficiency and clean energy through a series of educational programmes conducted in collaboration with national energy industries. The Faculty of Communication Sciences partnered with Pertamina New and Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) to deliver an open lecture on renewable energy communication strategies and to launch a comprehensive awareness programme for students, including seminars, workshops, educational materials, and public campaigns. Complementing this effort, the Drilling Innovation Forum 2024, held at Bale Sawala on 14 November 2024, featured Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia, whose speakers highlighted the global shift toward renewable energy, the risks of fossil fuel dependence, and the urgent need for innovation to achieve national energy security. Together, these activities provided meaningful learning opportunities for students and the wider community, enhancing public understanding of energy efficiency, climate responsive energy policies, and the importance of accelerating the clean energy transition.
