Universitas Padjadjaran has established a comprehensive policy framework to ensure the sustainable use, conservation and restoration of terrestrial ecosystems across all its campuses. The Rector Regulation on Eco Friendly Campus Management positions ecological balance as a foundational principle for campus development. Article 2 and Article 3 require the protection of land, soil, water, flora and fauna in all planning and operational activities. This commitment is strengthened by Article 3 paragraph 2 point c, which mandates the management of ecological functions and ecosystem services, and by the designation of the Campus Forest in Article 3 paragraph 2 point e as an ecological conservation area. Article 7 further supports land conservation through the requirement that each campus block maintains at least forty percent green open space and preserves protected forested zones.
This ecological commitment is reinforced by the Rector Regulation of Universitas Padjadjaran Number 26 of 2021 concerning the Conservation of Biological and Non Biological Resources. Article 5 outlines core principles for sustainable environmental management, including the protection of life support systems, the preservation of biodiversity and ecosystems, and the sustainable use of biological and non biological natural resources. It also requires the optimal and integrated management of energy resources with a focus on efficiency, ensuring that conservation principles extend beyond land protection to broader environmental stewardship.

Both regulations emphasize that all Tri Dharma activities, which include education, research and community service, must be carried out with a strong commitment to environmental balance and sustainability. This ensures that conservation and restoration principles influence not only physical land development but also academic programs, research agendas and community partnerships. These provisions embed sustainability across the entire university system, strengthening the institutional culture of ecological responsibility.

Together, these policies provide a strong and formal basis for the long term protection, restoration and sustainable management of terrestrial ecosystems at Universitas Padjadjaran. This combined regulatory framework ensures that landscapes, forests, water systems and biodiversity within the university environment are safeguarded through planning, implementation and continuous monitoring.
