In 2024, Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) actively participated in several international collaborations focused on research and data gathering that support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These collaborations involved joint studies, data collection, and knowledge exchange with international universities and research institutions to address global sustainability challenges across health, environment, and marine conservation.
Replica 2.0 International Meeting: Global Best Practices in Tobacco Harm Reduction
As part of its partnership with the University of Catania, Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) contributed to developing global best practices in tobacco harm reduction (THR) through the Center of Excellence for the Acceleration of Harm Reduction (CoEHAR) Padjadjaran. During the Replica 2.0 International Meeting held in Catania, Italy (25–29 March 2024), Unpad researchers collaborated with partners from the University of Kragujevac (Serbia) and the Sbarro Health Research Organization, Temple University (USA) to review and standardize research methodologies on the molecular mechanisms of cancer progression related to tobacco use. This collaboration emphasized the replication and validation of scientific studies to establish evidence-based best practices for harm reduction strategies, contributing to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by supporting effective and ethical public health policy development.
EO Data Usage to Address Climate Change in the Marine of Biosphere of the Northwest Pacific and Indo-Pacific Regional Seas

In 2024, researchers from PSDKU Universitas Padjadjaran took part in the workshop of the Expanding EO Data Usage to Address Climate Changes in the Marine Biosphere of the Northwest Pacific and Indo-Pacific Regional Seas (EO-WPI) Project, in collaboration with the State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC), East China Normal University, China. This initiative supports the enhancement of data-driven research and technological exchange in fisheries and marine sciences, focusing on the use of Earth Observation (EO) data to better understand climate change impacts on marine ecosystems. As part of the collaboration, PSDKU Unpad also joined the Ocean Color-based Plant Species Identification and Carbon Flux in Indo-Pacific Oceans (OC-PC) project under the Integrated Marine Biosphere Research (IMBeR) framework, which involves researchers from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore. Through these activities, Unpad contributes to the collection and analysis of regional marine and climate data, fostering international cooperation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Collection and Analysis of Baseline Data through Questionnaires on Health-seeking behavior

In 2024, the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Padjadjaran (FKG Unpad), engaged in an international collaboration with the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya, through a series of activities including a study visit, joint research, and community service held on July 26–28, 2024, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The collaboration involved the collection and analysis of baseline data through questionnaires on health-seeking behavior and oral health examinations among Indonesian migrant communities in Malaysia. The gathered data serve as the foundation for developing sustainable oral health intervention models aimed at improving the quality of life of the target population, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Through these international partnerships, Universitas Padjadjaran has demonstrated its commitment to advancing the SDGs by engaging in collaborative data-driven research, enhancing scientific capacity, and contributing to global sustainability efforts across multiple SDG indicators.
