In 2024, Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) demonstrated its strong commitment to promoting the sustainable use of land through various educational and community-based events focused on conservation and responsible land management. Activities such as the Rasitara Festival, Agriday 2024, the Agri Empower Village Program, and the Wildlife Journalism Competition engaged students, communities, and experts in discussions and actions supporting biodiversity protection, sustainable agriculture, and ecosystem preservation. These initiatives reflect Unpad’s dedication to advancing public awareness and collaboration for the conservation and sustainable utilization of land, forests, and wild areas.
Rasitara Festival Talkshow 2024
Universitas Padjadjaran held the Rasitara Festival Talkshow, emphasizing a holistic approach to nature conservation as a balance between protection, preservation, and sustainable use. Featuring experts from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, BRIN, and Sahabat Bekantan Indonesia, the event highlighted collaborative efforts to protect biodiversity, particularly the endangered proboscis monkey (Bekantan). The festival also showcased student research and environmental exhibitions, reinforcing Unpad’s commitment to sustainability through education, research, and collective action. The event was held in a hybrid format at Bale Sawala, Unpad Jatinangor Campus, on Friday–Saturday, 22–23 November 2024, allowing broader participation from both on-site and online audiences in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable land conservation.
Agriday 2024 at Universitas Padjadjaran

Universitas Padjadjaran’s Agribusiness Student Association held Agriday 2024 from September 2 to October 31, 2024, to foster innovation and entrepreneurial spirit among students in the agribusiness sector. The event featured a range of activities, including the Agriculture Business Plan Competition, a scientific writing contest, and an open forum discussing current agribusiness issues across Indonesia. Agriday concluded with an exhibition showcasing student innovations and creative agribusiness products that promote sustainable and community-based entrepreneurship.
Wildlife Journalism Competition 2024

Universitas Padjadjaran, through its Center for Environmental Communication Studies, held the Wildlife Journalism Competition 2024 to celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity. The event brought together government representatives, international organizations, and media professionals to discuss strategies for wildlife conservation and sustainable ecosystem management. Serving as both a competition and an educational platform, it empowered students and young journalists to explore biodiversity issues and promote the protection of wild flora and fauna through impactful storytelling.
